In the app there is no length limit, and voice notes arrive straight from WhatsApp's share button. The first five are free, with no account or card.
How it works
- Press Choose an audio file and pick a voice note, or press Record a voice note and speak. A WhatsApp voice note saved to your phone or computer works as it is.
- Wait a moment for the check that you are a person. Usually you do not have to do anything.
- Press Transcribe. The text appears below, with tone notes such as [laughs] or [pauses] where they happened, and a Copy button.
Limits
- 60 seconds and 2 MB per file. Longer voice notes go through the app, which has no length limit.
- 3 free transcriptions a day for each internet connection. The count starts again at midnight UTC. On a shared network, such as an office or a mobile operator that shares one address between many phones, people on it share the count.
- A failed attempt is not counted. If the transcription does not come back, you get the attempt back.
What happens to your audio
The recording is converted on our server, transcribed by our speech recognition service, and deleted as soon as the text is ready. The text is kept for up to one hour so this page can collect it, and this page does not save it anywhere: copy it before you leave. To count the daily limit we keep a scrambled form of your internet address for two days, which cannot be turned back into the address once that day's key is deleted. Cloudflare Turnstile checks that you are a person. Details are in the privacy policy.

Which languages does it understand?
Azerbaijani, Turkish, English, Russian and other widely used languages. The tone notes are written in the language that was spoken.
Can I transcribe a WhatsApp voice note here?

Can I transcribe someone else's voice note?
A voice note usually contains someone else's voice. Deciding to transcribe it is your call, and so is having a lawful basis for it. See the terms.
